DETAILED BIO:

Along The Way is made up of Chris LeCroy (guitar, banjo, vocals) Ben Parker (mandolin, vocals, mandola, mandocello) and Robert Gucwa (upright bass, vocals). From time to time bass players Adam Booker (Boone, NC) and Charles Gaston (Chattanooga, TN) sit in as honorary members of Along The Way. Local to Western NC and Eastern TN, the trio formed in 2026 following a jam session at Robert’s music store, Kudzu Music, in Boone, NC. What came forth from that fateful day continues to grow as “music from the Zu” takes shape and form, finds its voice, and makes a mighty sound. You can expect a diverse sounding set list when you see Along The Way live that reflects their musical origins with characteristics of the blues, folk, bluegrass, and jazz. LeCroy and Parker's lyrics are a tasteful culmination of tales of love and loss, dreams and aspirations, and occasional musings. Their sound has been compared to the likes of their influences such as The Wood Brothers, Tim O'Brien, Bob Dylan, John Prine and The Avett Brothers, but make no mistake, Along The Way is an original music ensemble packed with soulful lyrics, quality improvisation, and stripped down, acoustic musical simplicity desperately needed in this over-produced day and age.

Native to Athens, GA and transplanted several times over, singer-songwriter Chris LeCroy has been performing his original music for over 20 years all across the country from Colorado to New Hamshire to Tennessee. Prior bands include Two Bits a Gander from Fort Collins, CO that released two albums available wherever you love to stream from, and The Moccasin Benders from Chattanooga, TN. Chris's guitar style and vocals melds his early days of emulating the Allman Brothers Band with his more current bluegrass and folk influences.

Bass player Robert Gucwa (also of the Pigeon River Messengers) has cultivated a life revolving around supporting local music. He also plays guitar, fiddle, and cello. Find him at either of his music stores, Kudzu Music in Boone, NC or Music Patch in Morganton, NC, when he's not on stages across western NC!

Ben Parker is a North Carolina–based mandolinist and composer who emerged from the early-2000s Chapel Hill acoustic scene, blending traditional bluegrass with improvisational Americana. A longtime bandleader, he has fronted projects including Run of the Mill and The Delta Natural, is a former member of Hank, Pattie & the Current, and is currently the frontman of Boone-based band Midlife Trip. He has performed widely on the regional festival circuit alongside acts such as the Del McCoury Band, Sam Bush, and the Kruger Brothers. His playing bridges tradition and innovation, rooted in Bill Monroe’s style while incorporating the progressive influence of David Grisman and modern jazz-informed mandolin approaches.
