DETAILED BIO:

The LeCroy Trio is made up of Chris LeCroy (guitar, banjo, vocals,) Ben Parker (mandolin, mandola, mandocello,) and Robert Gucwa (upright bass). Local to Boone, North Carolina, the trio formed in 2026 after a long absence of each other’s musical presence was finally rectified via a jam session at Robert’s music store, Kudzu Music. What came forth from that fateful day continues to grow as “music from the zu” takes shape and form, finds its voice, and makes a mighty sound. You can expect a diverse sounding set list when you see the trio live that reflects their musical origins with characteristics of the blues, folk, bluegrass, and jazz. LeCroy’s lyrics are a tasteful culmination of tales of love and loss, dreams and aspirations, and occasional musings, and their sound has been compared to the likes of their influences such as Tim O'Brien, Bob Dylan, John Prine and The Avett Brothers.

Native to Athens, GA and transplanted several times over, singer-songwriter Chris LeCroy has been performing his original music for over 20 years all across the country. Prior bands include Two Bits a Gander from Fort Collins, CO that released two albums, and The Moccasin Benders from Chattanooga, TN.

Bass player Robert Gucwa (of the Pigeon River Messengers) has cultivated a life revolving around supporting local music. Find him at either of his music stores or on stages across western NC!

Ben Parker is a North Carolina–based mandolinist and composer who emerged from the early-2000s Chapel Hill acoustic scene, blending traditional bluegrass with improvisational Americana. A longtime bandleader, he has fronted projects including Run of the Mill and The Delta Natural, and is currently the frontman of Midlife Trip, performing widely on the regional festival circuit alongside acts such as the Del McCoury Band, Sam Bush, and the Kruger Brothers. His playing bridges tradition and innovation, rooted in Bill Monroe’s style while incorporating the progressive influence of David Grisman and modern jazz-informed mandolin approaches. After time in Philadelphia, Parker has returned to North Carolina, where he continues to perform and collaborate as a versatile multi-instrumentalist.
